In 2012, George started his training under the guidance of two K-9 Officers; Atlantic County's K-9 Instructor, and Head Trainer for New Castle County's K-9 unit.

In 2014, he branched out on his own, teaching both group and private lessons. His certifications include Basic and Advanced Obedience Dog Training, the Foundations Course, Behavioral Modification, and Canine First Aid, all of which were completed through Trikos Dog Online Training Program.

 

In 2017, he began volunteering at the Pennsville Animal Shelter by hosting social skills and obedience classes. The objective was to get the dogs out of the shelter as well as making them more adoptable. While doing this for the past three years, every dog that has been trained has successfully found their forever home.

 

George likes to use multiple types of training methods based on the needs of each individual dog.

 

He is currently enrolled in Leerburg Online University taking the Basic Dog Obedience, Dealing with Dominant, and Aggressive Dogs courses. He is also certified in training with an e-collar.

     Mike spent 27 years as a police officer. During his time in the department he spent 17 years as a canine handler and had the opportunity to train three different dogs during his time in the unit.

​

     Each canine academy ran 26 weeks and Mike was responsible for all phases of training under the guidance of an instructor.

     After completing each academy Mike was required to attend monthly training along with an annual certification through the National Police Canine Association. 

​

     During his canine career Mike had the opportunity to work with the United States Secret Service to provide canine bomb detection services during several presidential campaigns.

​

     After retirement, his passion to work with dogs continued. Mike continued to expand his knowledge by completing the following courses.

Trikos Team Dog Training's

   Foundations Course, Teaching Basic Obedience, and Behavioral Modification Course.

He is currently enrolled in Leerburg Online University taking the Basic Dog Obedience, Dealing with Dominant, and Aggressive Dogs courses. He is also taking courses at Catch Canine.
